Widely used for detecting the rectifying efficiency or for switching on a radio, TV, stereo, etc. When paired with a resistor in a circuit, these can be used to drop the voltage output from 1.5 volts to the desired 1.2 volts that many older cameras and exposure meters require. As a side note, these are also great for crystal radios and science projects! |
